Committed, devoted & growing the local economy in Northern Uganda
About us
GLOFORD Institute of Innovation Ltd. (GII) is a subsidiary company and the business wing of Global Forum For Development (GLOFORD) Uganda, an NGO, which is a company limited by guarantee established in 2009 and registered in 2010.
GII business is a rural-urban (RUBAN) model that builds the value chain system between the primary producers, connecting them to on-farm capacity at production, post-harvest handling, and marketing, which continues to impact the agribusiness development of smallholder farmers in the remote Lango region.
For us, social impact with sustainable income growth for the company is central to our business model, where we work with farmers through their institutions or cooperatives for the aggregation and supply of grains while building their capacity and connecting them to the local and external markets.
We also work with more than 50% of the farmers being women and youth engaged in production and other value chain aspects critical for the continued growth of individual and community local economies.
This way, we are poised not only to grow and make money as an institution but also to care for growth with those on the farm (women and youth), and support the value chain constraints while growing their business in a more inclusive manner critical for the growth of GII and those with whom the company works.

Human Centered Social Impact Business Solution
We (GII) work directly with more than 3322 smallholder famers, majority women and youth in remote farming communities, who are organized in cooperatives, farmer groups and individuals.
These registered farmers receive free field extension services, are taught improved agronomical practices and receive micro-credit services to support their activities and are guaranteed market for their produce at the best price.
We also engages hundreds of youth in the ICT and creative art enterprise (ICT for development – ICT4D) where young people are taught computer skills under the ICT boot camp, who provide ICT and art & design related services to the communities of Northern Uganda.
GII’s micro credit loan service is one of fastest loans to acquire, with one the least interest rate in the country of 10% in three months on reducing balance. This venture is plummeted in partnership from TCP Global, National Peace Corps Association.
